MC1036568 (Updated) Updates to App Governance Pre-Defined Policies in Defender for Cloud Apps These specific pre-defined policies within App Governance will be switched off for all customers by default. The policies being disabled are:

Increase in data usage by an overprivileged or highly privileged app

Unusual activity from an app with priority account consent

Access to sensitive data

This change will reduce the number of alerts triggered by legitimate activities, allowing you to focus on more accurate and relevant security notifications. The remaining policies and our advanced threat detection engines, which are always enabled and running behind the scenes, will continue to provide robust protection by correlating multiple pieces of evidence to identify potential attacks with higher confidence.

If for any reason you prefer to continue receiving these alerts can re-enable the policies via the policy management interface. Additionally, we provide tools for customers to create custom policies tailored to their specific needs. For more details, please refer to the relevant documentation.

MC1036568 (Updated) Updates to App Governance Pre-Defined Policies in Defender for Cloud Apps Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps is continuously working to ensure that our out-of-the-box (OOTB) threat protection capabilities within App Governance are as accurate and effective as possible.

As part of this effort, we will be disabling by default three specific pre-defined policies that have been found to mostly trigger on legitimate activities, rather than alerting on malicious ones. This change is aimed at improving the overall accuracy of our alerts by relying on more accurate sources that provide a comprehensive view of potential attacks, rather than focusing on isolated anomalous activities.

If you prefer to continue receiving these alerts, the option to re-enable them remains available.

MC726122 (Updated) Microsoft Teams: View, download, and delete Microsoft OneDrive transcript files Updated April 4, 2025: We have updated the rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.

We are beginning the process to standardize all transcript storage to OneDrive, starting with the storage of transcripts for meetings that only have transcription enabled. Previously, meetings with only transcription enabled saved the transcript file to the meeting organizer's Exchange Online, while meetings with both recording and transcription enabled saved two transcript copies-one that is coupled with the recording saved to OneDrive and another transcript copy saved to the meeting organizer's Exchange Online.

Now with this feature, meetings that have only transcription enabled will also save two copies (one in OneDrive and one in Exchange Online), but all meeting transcript entry points in Teams app will point to the OneDrive copy only, no entry points for meeting transcripts will source from the Exchange Online copy. At the same time, meeting transcripts will stop saving in Exchange Online altogether and all transcript storage will be standardized on OneDrive only.

The rollout of this feature also improves both the experience of meeting organizers to manually delete the transcript, as well as the ability for IT administrators to apply retention policies to the transcripts from meetings that only had transcription enabled.

A summary of the deletion experience for meeting transcripts is captured in the following table:

UserType of transcript deletionPrevious experienceNew Experience with this feature rollout

Meeting organizer/co-organizer Manually from Teams appOnly deleted Exchange Online transcript fileDeletes both copies of the transcript file from OneDrive and Exchange Online

Meeting organizer/co-organizerManually from StreamOnly deletes the transcript file stored in OneDriveOnly deletes the transcript file stored in OneDrive

IT AdministratorRetention policies in Teams Admin CenterOnly available for copies saved in OneDrive, so only applicable to meetings with recording turned on.Now the retention policy is also applicable to meetings with only transcription enabled and to the transcript file saved in OneDrive.

Updated April 9, 2025: We have updated the content. Thank you for your patience.

Due to a high volume of requests for SMS in Teams, processing times to approve Campaigns and Brands for SMS in Teams are taking longer than usual and may take 4 to 6 weeks. We appreciate your patience as we work diligently to address all requests. If you receive a Brand or Campaign rejection, our support team is aware and a support case is automatically created. You may be able to help us reduce the processing time for your request through providing additional information through your support case.

How to access your support case

You can view your case by navigating to the Phone Number Service Center, and selecting the tab for My Company Cases. Open the case, and you can interact with our support team about the details and status of the case and provide additional information.

How to help resolve a brand rejection

If your brand was not approved, please provide the following information:

1) Your company website if you have not already done so.

2) Your Tax ID, matching your nine-digit Employer Identification Number (EIN) in the US, or your nine-digit Canadian Business Number (BN) issued by the CRA, or the numeric portion of your Value-Added Tax (VAT) number if your brand is registered outside of the United States and Canada.

3) Your Legal Company Name, consistent with your IRS/Corporation registration and spelled correctly.

4) Your Legal Company Address, consistent with your IRS/Corporation registration and correctly spelled.

For more information about brands, please visit: Create a Brand for SMS in Microsoft Teams - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn. Please be advised that only US-based non-profits or non-profits with a US EIN are accepted. Non-US non-profits should register as private companies.

How to help resolve a campaign rejection

If your campaign was not approved, please provide the following information:

1) Your company website if you have not already done so.

2) The public URL(s) containing the Privacy Statement and Terms & Conditions for the SMS campaign. It can be a single combined URL or separate URLs. If not available online, a document containing the Privacy Statement and/or the Terms & Conditions is also acceptable.

3) To comply with the 10DLC program and Application to Person (A2P) messaging guidelines, we require support contact information. This can be provided as a webpage, email address, or phone number. The support information will be communicated to the SMS recipient when they send the HELP keyword.

4) The Call to Action or Message Flow. It should contain a clear and transparent description of how an end user (recipient) signs up to receive messages from the brand. The opt-in process must be explicit, ensuring that users understand what they are consenting to, and their consent must be collected in a way that is direct and verifiable.
