Details:

Updating February 27, 2024: The “Commercial data protection for Microsoft Copilot" service plan—which turns commercial data protection on or off in Copilot—is now rolling out for the licenses indicated in the original message below which was sent on January 25, 2024.
To ensure that your organizational data is protected, commercial data protection in Copilot is turned on for your eligible users. Users must sign in to Copilot with their work accounts to receive commercial data protection.
No action is required to keep commercial data protection turned on for your users.
If you would like to turn off commercial data protection, you must disable the service plan. By turning off commercial data protection, your organizational data may be at risk of leaking. We do not recommend turning off commercial data protection in Copilot.
Help newly eligible users learn to use Copilot by leveraging the adoption kit, which is now available in 9 languages: Adoption kit.
Starting mid-late February 2024, commercial data protection will be available for users with the following eligible licenses when they are signed in to Copilot with their work account (Microsoft Entra ID):

Office 365 E3
Office 365 E1 Plus
Office 365 E1
Office 365 F3
Microsoft 365 F1
Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise
Microsoft 365 Apps for business
