Organizers of town hall instances can now reach wider audience in a single event with an expansion to a maximum of 100,000 simultaneous attendees. This increase serves as a significant jump from the previous attendee cap of 50,000 for organizers with a Teams Premium license. The quality and stability of town halls up to this new limit will remain constant, providing high-quality and reliable content to participants. For events with more than 20,000 concurrent attendees, some interactivity features are disabled for all attendees. Organizations can get support for audiences up to 100,000 concurrent attendees by selecting the Max Capacity limit to be as high as desired up to 100,000. Reaching out to the Microsoft 365 Live Event Assistance Program (LEAP) for assistance (Microsoft 365 Live Event Assistance Program – Microsoft Adoption) is recommended for every event. This feature is available for town hall organizers that have an active Teams Premium license.

Microsoft Teams has expanded its capacity for town hall events, allowing organizers to host up to 100,000 simultaneous attendees. This is a significant increase from the previous limit of 50,000 for those with a Teams Premium license. Think of it like moving from a large concert hall to a stadium; you can now accommodate a much larger audience without sacrificing the quality of the experience.

The stability and quality of the event remain high, ensuring that participants receive reliable and clear content. However, for events with more than 20,000 attendees, some interactive features may be turned off to maintain performance. It's similar to how a restaurant might simplify its menu during peak hours to ensure quick and efficient service.

Organizations planning to host events with up to 100,000 attendees can set the maximum capacity to their desired level, up to this new limit. For those planning such large-scale events, reaching out to the Microsoft 365 Live Event Assistance Program is recommended. This is akin to hiring an event planner when organizing a large wedding, ensuring everything runs smoothly.

This feature is available to town hall organizers with an active Teams Premium license, making it easier for businesses to engage with a larger audience on a global scale. Whether you're on a desktop, Android, Mac, or iOS device, this update is accessible worldwide, enhancing the ability to connect and communicate effectively.
