Currently available in public preview to commercial and academic customers, app governance is a security and policy management capability available as an add-on feature for Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps (formerly known as Microsoft Cloud App Security). Apps are emerging as one of the most dangerous threat vectors due to their low bar to entry. With app governance, customers can monitor and govern 3rd party and in-house developed apps to help identify, alert, and prevent risky or unapproved access, entitlement or privileged use of data.
