OneDrive sync client will enable "https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/onedrive/b2b-sync" B2BSync for most customers on or after June 17, 2019. This feature allows users to sync SharePoint and OneDrive for Business content shared with them from users at organizations other than their own in order to facilitate business to business collaboration.
A new setting to prevent users from using B2BSync (ie prevent syncing libraries and folders shared from other organizations) is an update to an existing Office 365 feature.
