Details:
The start date of the retirement of the 3DES cipher has been moved from the previously announced date of February 28th, 2019 to a new start date of July 10, 2019. Based on customer feedback we have updated the timeline to allow additional time for organizations to update older client software and devices that rely on the 3DES cipher.
As previously communicated in MC171089 in Dec 2018 and MC172798 in Jan 2019, retirement of the 3DES cipher is part of the migration of all our online services to Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2+ to provide best-in-class encryption, and to ensure our service is more secure by default.
