Details:

On phone devices, users currently access Copilot Chat in Outlook Mobile via a tab at the bottom of their screen (or in Apps). Outlook is introducing a new Copilot Chat overlay experience, allowing users to chat with Copilot while continuing to interact with their email, calendar, and contacts. This overlay will be context-aware—understanding what the user is viewing—so users can ask Copilot about the content on their screen. Users with M365 Copilot licenses will also benefit from Copilot’s ability to draw on Microsoft 365 Graph to provide richer, more personalized responses.

Imagine you're in a bustling city, trying to navigate your way to a meeting while juggling phone calls and emails. Now, think of Copilot Chat in Outlook Mobile as your personal assistant who walks alongside you, helping you stay on track without missing a beat. Previously, you could only chat with this assistant by switching to a specific tab on your phone. But now, there's a new feature that allows this assistant to pop up right in front of you, wherever you are on your phone, without needing to pause what you're doing.

This new feature is like having a transparent notepad that you can write on while still seeing the map or emails behind it. It understands the context of what you're doing, much like a helpful friend who knows you're reading an email and can offer advice or information relevant to that email. For instance, if you're looking at your calendar, you can ask the assistant about your next meeting, and it will provide details without you needing to leave the calendar view.

Moreover, if you have a special pass called the M365 Copilot license, this assistant becomes even more insightful. It's like having a super-smart friend who knows your preferences and history, drawing from a vast library of your past interactions to give you more tailored and useful advice.

This change is designed to make your experience smoother and more integrated, allowing you to manage your communications and schedule with greater ease and efficiency, all from the palm of your hand. Whether you're using an Android or iOS device, this feature aims to enhance your productivity by keeping everything you need right at your fingertips.
