The September 2021 security update release, referred to as our "B" release, is now available for Windows 10, version 21H1 and all supported versions of Windows. We recommend that you install these updates promptly. See the Release Notes associated to this update for information on the contents of this release (Release notes might publish with a delay of up to an hour after the updates are available for download). To learn more about the different types of monthly quality updates, see our Windows 10 quality updates primer.


REMINDER: Starting in October 2021, there will no longer be non-security releases (known as "C" releases) for Windows 10, version 1909. Only cumulative monthly security updates (known as the "B" or Update Tuesday release) will continue for Windows 10, version 1909.


Improvements and fixes for Windows 10, version 21H1 update:


Addresses an issue that causes PowerShell to create an infinite number of child directories. This issue occurs when you use the PowerShell Move-Item command to move a directory to one of its children.
