Title: Announcing Power Apps and Power Automate Data Loss Prevention features’ General Availability

Starting August 21st 2020, Power Platform will support the following Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policy capabilities for Power Apps and Power Automate at the release status of General Availability. These features are currently in public preview. The public preview admin communication providing an overview of these features was posted towards the end of April 2020 via Message Center ID - MC210568.

Detailed documentation of these new generally available capabilities will be made available "https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/admin-documentation">here, as they roll out to production.

Additionally, a host of known issues have been fixed for this feature since Public Preview, as we move into the general availability.

What specifically is changing?
Ability to block connectors - In the public preview release, admins could block all third-party connectors as well as all Microsoft-owned premium connectors. Microsoft-owned standard connectors were not blockable in public preview. Based on the feedback received from preview customers, we have increased the list of blockable connectors to include several Microsoft-owned standard connectors. All connectors driving core Power Platform functionality (like Common Data Service, Approvals and Notifications) as well as connectors enabling core Office customization scenarios like Office Enterprise Plan standard connectors will remain non-blockable to ensure core user scenarios remain fully functional. You can find public documentation on the new, shorter list of connectors that cannot be blocked "https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/wp-data-loss-prevention">here.

HTTP Connectors’ parity in DLP User Interface - Since Public Preview, this feature has been enhanced by introducing a new warning message that is displayed to admins, if an existing legacy DLP policy (which did not include HTTP Connectors) is being edited from the DLP user interface thereby bringing these connectors into DLP purview. This new warning urges admins to ensure that DLP policy edits place these individual HTTP connectors in the right ‘Business’, ‘Non-Business’ or ‘Blocked’ category rather than inadvertently mapping them to the default DLP group.

Intuitive DLP policy wizard in the Power Platform admin center - With the Public Preview release, we introduced a new intuitive user interface that enables you to configure DLP Policies in the Power Platform admin center. Since Public Preview, we have been enhancing the DLP Policies user interface allowing environment admins to view policies at an individual policy level. Additionally, a few known issues have been addressed for this feature since public preview.

Customer Action Required
Altogether these features provide powerful new controls and functionality to enhance Power Platform security and governance for your tenant. As a Power Platform admin we trust you will find great value in these capabilities. As you roll out any new governance efforts leveraging these features, you should also anticipate support requests from Power Platform makers and users in your organization that may be impacted as changes are rolled out to the broader organization.
