Details:

Currently, when we determine whether a user is entitled to submit feedback, we only look at the feedback policy for their primary (global) account. Going forward, we are going to make the feedback policy check more restrictive which is more secure. We'll be looking at feedback policies for all users' accounts and basing their eligibility off the most restrictive policy value found. For example, if any of the users' accounts have Feedback disabled by a policy, we won't show the Feedback button in the Help tab of the ribbon for any of their accounts. #newoutlookforwindows

In the world of IT, changes are constant and sometimes they can be a bit tricky to understand. Let's break down a recent change in Outlook that might affect how feedback is handled, using a simple analogy.

Imagine you have a keychain with several keys on it. Each key represents an account you have in Outlook. Now, let's say you want to enter a building (submit feedback). Previously, the security guard (Outlook) would only check one key (your primary account) to see if it allows you to enter. If that key was okay, you could go in.

However, this approach wasn't very secure. What if one of your other keys (accounts) had restrictions? To make things safer, the security guard will now check all your keys. If any one of them has a restriction (like feedback being disabled), you won't be allowed to enter the building (submit feedback) at all.

In simpler terms, Outlook used to check only your main account to see if you could submit feedback. Now, it will check all your accounts. If any of your accounts have feedback disabled, you won't see the Feedback button in the Help tab for any of your accounts. This change makes the system more secure by ensuring that no account's restrictions are overlooked.

This new policy is being rolled out across all platforms, including web and desktop versions of Outlook, and will be available worldwide. The goal is to ensure a consistent and secure experience for all users.
