MC221113 (Updated) Final Reminder: Office 365 ATP External email forwarding controls and policy change As originally announced in MC218984 (July '20) automated external email forwarding is a tactic attackers use to exfiltrate data out of an organization. To counter that, we are updating our outbound anti-spam policies. First, we are providing a control to easily enable automatic external forwarding for select people in your organization. Second, we will change the ?Automatic? setting to block automatic external forwarding. Internal automatic forwarding of messages will not be impacted by this change.
On September 1st, 2020 the Auto-Forwarding Policy will be enforced for tenants who have configured their policy to On or Off. For tenants that have made no changes and have no users externally forwarding prior to September 1st 2020 the setting ?Automatic? will default to ?Off? and automatic forwarding will be disabled. For organizations that have some users externally forwarding prior to September 1st 2020 the setting ?Automatic? will default to ?On? and we will contact you separately when this will change for your tenant.
NOTE; No action is needed if you don't want to allow any users to automatically forward messages externally or if no one in your tenant is currently doing so. Additionally, we understand that some organizations already have users automatically forwarding messages outside the organization and we will provide additional time and communications to enable transition to the new policy controls. For these organizations we will communicate via Message center with more details on when the change will impact your specific tenant.

Updated September 8, 2020; As announced in MC221113 (August 28th), on September 1st, 2020 the Auto-Forwarding Policy was planned be enforced for tenants who have configured their policy to On or Off, this includes tenants that had users external forwarding prior to September 1st 2020.

We have determined that we need additional time to complete validations before we can deploy this change and enforce the policy action. Once we have completed the additional validations, we will send an updated message center post confirming when the policy will be enforced.

Once we have worked through all validations we will send another message center post informing customers when the policy will be enforced.

Note; If you have configured your Auto Forward policy to ?Off? at this time externally forwarded mail will not be blocked.

MC217716 (Updated) Microsoft Teams - Large Gallery view (Preview) - see up to 49 participants Large Gallery view (preview) for Microsoft Teams meetings provides a new way to view video from up to 49 participants at once on a single screen. Similar to the normal Gallery view, Large Gallery automatically adapts the layout of participant videos in a Teams meeting into defined grids (e.g. 7x7) for optimal viewing. Large Gallery is an optional participant view that is turned off by default for each meeting, and each meeting user may switch in or out of Large Gallery view at any time.
Large Gallery is being made available as a public preview feature and uses a new flexible design to deliver a network-optimized client video experience that works on multiple device categories. During the preview, the Large Gallery experience will be available for desktop Teams client (Windows, Mac) and mobile Teams client (iOS, Android) users. In order to take advantage of this new view, users will need to turn on the new multi-window meeting experience and must have ten (10) or more participants in an active meeting with video turned on.
