Details:

With this update, Risky AI usage policy template will support priority content. Customers can define Sensitive Info Types (SITs), Trainable Classifiers, Sensitivity Labels as priority content, and get alerted only when the activity matches the selected priority content. Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies based on their own internal policies, governance, and organizational requirements. Built with privacy by design, users are pseudonymized by default, and role-based access controls and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy.

Imagine you're managing a library, and you've got thousands of books. Some of these books are more valuable or sensitive than others, like rare first editions or confidential manuscripts. You want to make sure that if anything happens to these special books, like if they go missing or get damaged, you're alerted immediately so you can take action.

In the world of IT, Microsoft Purview is like the library's security system, but for digital information. With the latest update, you can set up a "Risky AI usage policy" to keep an eye on your most important digital content, just like those rare books. You can define what content is a priority, such as sensitive information types, specific classifications, or labels that indicate sensitivity. If any activity involves this priority content, you'll get an alert.

Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management works like a detective in your library. It looks for signs of potential risks, like someone trying to sneak out a rare book or making unauthorized copies. It uses various signals to spot potential issues, such as intellectual property theft or data leaks. You can create policies that align with your organization's rules and requirements to manage these risks effectively.

To protect privacy, users' identities are kept anonymous by default, like using a secret code instead of their real names. Access to this information is controlled based on roles, and everything is logged, ensuring that only the right people can see the details and that there's a record of who accessed what. This way, you maintain a balance between security and privacy, much like a library that ensures both the safety of its valuable books and the privacy of its patrons.
