Details:
This feature provides a visual optimization status indicator in Teams for VDI users. It will provide the user with an easy to understand status message (like ‘Optimized', or 'Not Optimized'), some contextual information about the optimization mode (optimized with the WebRTC-based solution or the new SlimCore-based solution), and in the not optimized case it will provide a brief description of the problem and an error code, for better supportability. It will also provide an option to repair Teams optimization mode if the user is not optimized (through a restart).

Imagine you're driving a car, and there's a dashboard in front of you with various indicators like fuel level, speed, and engine status. These indicators help you understand how your car is performing and if there's anything you need to address, like refueling or checking the engine. Similarly, Microsoft Teams for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) users now has a "status indicator" feature that acts like a dashboard for your Teams application.
This status indicator tells you whether your Teams is running optimally or not. Think of it as a simple traffic light system: green for "Optimized" and red for "Not Optimized." If it's green, everything is running smoothly, just like when your car's engine light is off. If it's red, it means there's something that needs attention, similar to when your car's check engine light comes on.
When Teams is not optimized, the indicator will provide a brief explanation of the issue, much like a mechanic giving you a quick diagnosis of your car's problem. It will also show an error code, which is like a reference number that helps support teams quickly understand and fix the issue.
Additionally, there's an option to attempt a quick fix by restarting the optimization mode, similar to turning your car off and on again to reset a minor issue. This can often resolve the problem without needing further intervention.
This feature is designed to make it easier for users to understand the performance of their Teams application on a virtual desktop, much like how a car's dashboard helps you keep track of your vehicle's condition.
