Details:
Settings: The menu options are now organized into groups, with icons for each entry, and keyboard shortcuts (where applicable). Top sites in the jump list: users can now see top sites in the jump list on the Windows task bar or Start menu. Tabs: Once users have set a group of tabs aside, they can choose the “Tabs you’ve set aside” icon (top left corner), and click on the label for any group to rename it. “Downloads” pane: new options for Show in folder and Copy link to the right-click menu for downloads in the Downloads pane. Retired XSS filter: We are retiring the XSS filter in Microsoft Edge. Our customers remain protected thanks to modern standards like Content Security Policy, which provide more powerful, better performing, and secure mechanisms to protect against content injection attacks, with high compatibility across modern browsers. PDF reader toolbar options: The toolbar available on a PDF document opened in Microsoft Edge will now show text descriptions for the icons to make them easily understandable by users. Pin/unpin PDF toolbar: The PDF toolbar can now be pinned at the top of the document, making all the PDF tools easily accessible if users need them. Users can also unpin the toolbar for an immersive reading experience. PDF reader rendering improvements: rendering performance fixes will have users see less white pages when they navigate through PDF files in Microsoft Edge. WebDriver improvements: users can automate testing in Microsoft Edge using WebDriver. WebDriver is a Windows Feature on Demand, so users no longer need to match the build and branch manually when installing WebDriver. Web authentication preview: Web Authentication provides an open, scalable, and interoperable solution to facilitate authentication, which replaces passwords with stronger hardware-bound credentials. The implementation in Microsoft Edge allows users to use Windows Hello (via PIN or biometrics) and external authenticators like FIDO2 Security Keys or FIDO U2F Security Keys, to securely authenticate to websites. Per-site media autoplay controls: users can now control autoplay permissions on a per-site basis under the Website permission section of the Website Identification pane – just click the information icon or lock icon on the left side of the address bar and click manage permissions to get started. Lookup definitions for words in reading view, books, and PDFs – there’s a new dictionary function, so users can look up definitions for key words when reading a page or document.
