summary for non-techies**

Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business have updated voicemail greetings to enhance privacy by omitting the recipient's name for external callers, and this change requires no technical adjustments from IT teams.

Direct effects for Operations**

Voicemail Greeting Privacy
The change in voicemail greetings may lead to confusion among users who are accustomed to hearing the recipient's real name for external calls. This could result in misunderstandings or misidentifications during external communications.

User Experience with External Calls
Users may experience a decrease in the perceived professionalism of voicemail greetings when external callers hear 'the person' instead of the recipient's name, potentially impacting business relationships.
