Summary:
The option to install the latest Windows 10 feature update on devices ineligible for Windows 11 will be deprecated starting February 17, 2026. Existing policies will continue until then. Users should prepare for this change and can seek assistance via the Microsoft Intune admin center.
Details:
We're retiring the "When a device isn't eligible to run Windows 11, install the latest Windows 10 feature update" option in the Feature Updates policy within Intune. As we reach the end of support for Windows 10, this setting no longer provides value add. This change is part of our ongoing efforts to simplify update management and reduce configuration complexity across tenant environments. This functionality will also be retired from programmatic controls for Windows feature updates via Microsoft Graph API, following the same deprecation timeline.
[When will this happen:]
The deprecation will be rolled out starting February 17th, 2026.
