Introduction
We're introducing support for sharing files protected with Microsoft Purview Information Protection sensitivity labels across Microsoft 365 cloud boundaries. This includes Worldwide, GCC High, and Microsoft 365 operated by 21Vianet. This enhancement enables secure collaboration across previously siloed environments, allowing recipients to view, edit, print, and more, based on the rights assigned by the document owner.

explanation for non-techies**
Microsoft is rolling out a new feature that allows files protected with sensitivity labels to be shared across different Microsoft 365 cloud environments. Think of it like a universal translator for documents. Previously, if you had a document in one cloud, it was like speaking a language that only people in that cloud could understand. Now, with this update, it's as if everyone across different clouds can understand and interact with the document, provided they have the right permissions.
This feature is particularly useful for organizations that operate in multiple cloud environments, such as Worldwide, GCC, GCC High, and those managed by 21Vianet. It's like having different branches of a company in various countries, and now they can all read and work on the same document without needing a separate translator for each branch.
To make this work, the feature needs to be turned on and set up by an administrator. It's similar to setting up a new security system at an office; someone needs to configure it and decide who gets access to what. This is done using Entra ID group controls, which are like the keys to the system, determining who can open which doors.
For organizations, this means reviewing how this new capability fits into their current operations and ensuring that everyone who needs to use it knows how it works. It's like introducing a new tool in the office; you need to make sure everyone knows how to use it properly and understands the benefits it brings.
In summary, this change is about making collaboration easier and more secure across different cloud environments, much like enabling a common language for teams spread across different locations.
