Summary:
Microsoft SharePoint will update its eSignature service in mid-April to late May 2025, allowing users to create additional eSignature requests without waiting for previous ones to complete. New toast notifications will inform users of request statuses. No admin action is required, but user notification and documentation updates are advised.

Details:
As communicated in 168828 (Updated) SharePoint eSignature electronic signature service (published November 2024, updated March 2025), SharePoint eSignature is Microsoft's first party electronic signature service which allows users to easily request eSignatures on a PDF document via SharePoint online. Signers can easily add their electronic signature. Signed documents are saved securely back to SharePoint.
Before this rollout, when users request an eSignature using the native SharePoint eSignature capability on a PDF, users must wait for their request to complete processing before creating an additional request.
After this rollout, users will be able to create additional requests without needing to wait for the previous request to complete sending.
[When this will happen:]
General Availability: We will begin rolling out mid-April 2025 and expect to complete by late May 2025 to these regions.

Direct effects for Operations**

Increased User Confusion
With the introduction of new toast notifications and the ability to create multiple eSignature requests simultaneously, users may become confused about the status of their requests, leading to potential miscommunication and errors in document processing.

Overwhelmed System Performance
The ability to create multiple eSignature requests without waiting may lead to a sudden spike in system usage, potentially overwhelming SharePoint's processing capabilities and resulting in slower performance or timeouts for users.
