MC1066337 (Updated) Microsoft Exchange Online: Introducing ActorInfoString in Exchange Online audit logs Once enabled, ActorInfoString will appear as a new field in your Exchange Online audit logs, alongside existing fields such as ClientInfoString. This addition provides an unambiguous record of which client, device, or application performed a given operation, supporting better investigation of incidents, improved detection of suspicious activity, and strengthened compliance reporting. Existing audit schema fields, records, and integrations will remain unchanged, ensuring a seamless transition without service impact or data loss.

After this rollout, change administrators will see these key improvements:

Clarity: Easily reveal the true user agent behind every action in your logs.

Better security: Accelerate investigation and threat detection by tracing the actual source of actions.

Compliance: Enhance your audit trails to more effectively meet regulatory standards.

Future-readiness: Prepare your monitoring and log analysis for evolving audit needs.

Use these instructions to find the new field:

Log into the Exchange Online admin center.

Go to the Security & Compliance section.

Select Audit logs from the menu.

In the Audit logs section, look for the ActorInfoString field under the detailed log entries.

MC1009926 (Updated) Microsoft Teams admin center highlights additional security and compliance information available for apps Updated May 8, 2025: We have updated the timeline below. Thank you for your patience.

Microsoft Teams admin center has brought security and compliance information directly into the Teams admin center app detail pages. In the security and compliance tab, users can find information on an app's security and compliance posture to help them make more informed decisions about which apps they choose to trust. Information may include things such as assessments for data security, vulnerability scanning, Service Organization Controls (SOC), Payment Card Industry (PCI), and more. Furthermore, admins will now have the ability to view the count of apps that have completed the Microsoft 365 Certification or the publisher attestation portion of the Microsoft 365 app compliance program. Admins who may not have explored these new experiences will be notified within the Teams admin center upon the release of this feature.

This feature will bring a notification to Teams admin center that helps inform and direct admins via a click-through experience from the Teams admin center dashboard into the manage apps page. There, they will be given a quick tutorial on the fastest way to access the security and compliance info for an app. In the Manage apps page, they will also find a new tile that gives a live count of the number of Teams apps that have completed the Microsoft 365 Certification or Publisher attestation.

[When this will happen:]

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out late February 2025 and expect to complete by early June 2025 (previously early April).

MC1057719 (Updated) MDE Mobile: Open Wi-Fi and Certificate Detections will be logged as Events As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the Microsoft Defender for Mobile security portal experience, we are updating the 'Open Wi-Fi' and 'Cert Detection for Android' features within the Network Protection suite. Effective May 19, 2025, when a user connects to an open Wi-Fi network on a mobile device, an alert will no longer be generated on the security portal. Instead, this activity will be recorded as an event and viewable under the device timeline. Similarly, detecting a suspicious certificate during download and installation will also be recorded as an event rather than generating an alert. This change ensures administrators still have visibility without generating alerts there by reducing fatigue.

[When this will happen:]

This change will take effect in a phased rollout starting May 19, 2025.

Coming soon for Microsoft Teams: Organizations that do not currently use Teams will be able to join and present in Teams town halls using their own video conferencing devices. Because we have incorporated Cloud Video Interop (CVI) capabilities into the event form, organizers can receive join codes for their tenant and share the codes to presenters, allowing them to easily join the event. This rollout ensures that all presenters can join the green room and can see and hear each other without any limitations. Only trusted CVI devices can join the session. After they join, a meeting organizer or co-organizer can promote the device from attendee to presenter, and then they can communicate with other presenters in the green room before the event starts.

This message applies to Teams for Windows desktop, Teams for Mac desktop, and Teams for the web.
