MC432475 (Updated) Quick Access Teams and Sharepoint Document Libraries in win32 backstage Updated April 23, 2024: We have updated the rollout timeline below. We apologize for the delayed communication. Thank you for your patience.

Currently, users experience some frustration when using Office products because of all different routes that they must use to access all their content. The Quick Access feature will allow users to access shared libraries from both their SharePoint and Teams locations. When the user opens files from shared libraries, these libraries will show up in the form of a list which will encourage users to save and open files to these libraries with ease. This helps deliver a more consistent, coherent storage location experience across M365 apps. This new backstage experience won’t show up in Teams, SharePoint, or OneDrive but does include storage locations from OneDrive and Teams (sites/channels) which are stored on SharePoint.

[When this will happen:]

Targeted Release: We will begin rolling out late January 2024 (previously late October) and expect to complete by late February 2024 (previously late November).

Standard Release: We will begin rolling out mid-March 2024 (previously late December) and expect to complete by mid-May 2024 (previously mid-April).

MC696853 (Updated) Replacement of OneNote Feed feature inside OneNote on Windows app with new Sticky Notes We want to let you know that OneNote Feed feature will no longer be available inside OneNote app on Windows. There are no changes to other OneNote Feed endpoints, such as OneNote on Web or Outlook on Web at this point.

In place of Feed, we are introducing a new Sticky Notes experience in OneNote app on Windows. Sticky Notes are the most popular note-type used within OneNote Feed and we’re excited to be working on improving and expanding the Sticky Notes scenarios in OneNote app on Windows. We believe this will unlock new note-taking capabilities for users and bring the Sticky Notes experience to the one place for all your notes, OneNote.

[When this will happen:]

We will begin gradually rolling out these changes starting early February 2024 and expect to complete the rollout by mid-May 2024.

Updated May 22, 2024: We have updated the rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.

We're pleased to announce the upcoming Multi-Tenant Organization (MTO) capabilities in Microsoft Teams. Admins can activate these features by configuring an MTO group in the Microsoft 365 admin center, while users utilize the new Teams desktop client.

Aimed at organizations managing employees across multiple tenants within the same cloud boundary, these features provide a seamless collaboration experience within MTO groups, enabling access to resources across tenants. The capabilities cover search, chat, calling, meetings, and content sharing, eliminating silos and facilitating collaboration across tenant boundaries.

[When this will happen:]

General Availability (GCC, GCC High, DoD) We will begin rolling out in late May 2024 (previously mid-May) and expect to complete in late June 2024 (previously mid-June).

MC714186 (Updated) Remove Custom Script setting in OneDrive and SharePoint Updated March 28, 2024: Setting Custom scripts setting for a site in SharePoint tenant admin center will be fully available by early-April (Previously March).

PowerShell command (DelayDenyAddAndCustomizePagesEnforcement) to delay the change will be fully available by mid- April (Previously March).

The enforcement to set NoScriptSite to True for all existing SharePoint sites and OneDrive sites if DelayDenyAddAndCustomizePagesEnforcement is not set to True will start late-April and be completed by early-May (Previously March)

There are changes happening to Custom script settings between April and May 2024 (Previously March).

The Custom Script setting, which determines if users can execute custom scripts on personal sites and self-service created sites will be removed by early-May (Previously March).

This setting is currently located in the SharePoint Admin Center, under Settings -> Classic Settings.

A new PowerShell command, "DelayDenyAddAndCustomizePagesEnforcement", has been introduced. This command is available in the SharePoint Online Management Shell version 16.0.24524.12000, or above which allows delay of the change to custom script set on the Tenant until mid-November 2024 (previously May).

Note: that while this cmdlet is available in the latest management shell, running the cmdlet will result in an error (The requested operation is part of an experimental feature that is not supported in the current environment) until Mid-April 2024 (Previously March) when the settings are shipped.

* False (default) - for site collections where administrators enabled the ability to add custom script, SharePoint will revoke that ability within 24 hours from the last time this setting was changed.

* True - All changes performed by administrators to custom script settings are preserved. When the value is set to true, a banner shows in the active sites list of the SharePoint admin center informing that changes to custom scripts are permanent.

Set-SPOTenant -DelayDenyAddAndCustomizePagesEnforcement $True

Please be aware that the new PowerShell command will only be accessible until mid-November 2024 (previously May). Post that period, on SharePoint sites if administrators wish to continue using features that are only available when unmanaged custom scripts are permitted to run, they will need to re-enable the running of custom scripts every 24 hours. This option does not impact existing custom scripts.

The NoScriptSite setting will be configured to True for all existing SharePoint sites and OneDrive sites except for below mentioned sites templates.

BLANKINTERNETCONTAINER#0 = Classic Publishing Portal site

CMSPUBLISHING#0 = Publishing Site

BLANKINTERNET#0 = Publishing Site

GROUP#0 = Team site

APPCATALOG#0 = App Catalog

CSPCONTAINER#0 = CSP Container

The execution of existing scripts in OneDrive and SharePoint sites will remain unaffected.

There will not be an option to enable custom script on OneDrive sites once the delay set using DelayDenyAddAndCustomizePagesEnforcement ends in mid-November 2024 (previously May).

Customers will retain the ability to permit the execution of custom scripts on specific SharePoint sites using the Set-SPOSite <SiteURL> -DenyAddAndCustomizePages PowerShell command or from the Active sites page in the SharePoint Admin Center.

Any modifications made to a site will be automatically reverted to False status within 24 hours, unless the new PowerShell command “DelayDenyAddAndCustomizePagesEnforcement” is used prior to mid-November 2024 (previously May). After mid-November, the 24 hour reversion will occur regardless of this setting.

[When this will happen:]

The Custom Script setting from SharePoint admin center will be removed early-May (Previously March).

The new PowerShell command will be available by mid-April (Previously March).

Enable single/all attendee mics/cameras - Educators no longer need to worry about students turning off their cameras or muting them during the meeting.

Change the roles of other participants - Stop other students from being able to present by converting them into an attendee.

Lower participants' hands (including 'lower all hands' from the participant roster in-meeting) - Stop other students from lowering other students' hands.

Remove participants - Stop other students from removing participants in the meeting.
