MC392295 (Updated) Disable chat write access for anonymous or unauthenticated users Updated October 12, 2022: We have updated the rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.

Financial institutions consider chat messages as a form of data exfiltration, so it's imperative for IT admins to gain flexibility and control over chat access for anonymous or unauthenticated users. The latter may be expected to join Teams meetings, but they should be restricted from seeing and accessing any type of electronic communication on chat. This feature provides additional security by only disabling chat write access for non-federated users and unauthenticated users who join Teams meetings through a link, so it must be used in conjunction with disabled meeting chat policy applied to financial advisors to remain compliant.

MC441064 (Updated) Exchange Online Customizable Message Expiration Timeout Interval Coming Soon A common request from Exchange Online admins is for the ability to customize the message expiration timeout interval for messages sent by users in their organization. When a message in Exchange Online can't be delivered or sent due to a temporary error, the message is queued for subsequent retries until either the message is delivered or sent, or until the message expires after the message expiration timeout interval has passed. In Exchange Online the service-wide default setting is 24 hours. With this update, we'll now give admins the ability to customize the message expiration timeout interval for their organization from 12 hours to 24 hours.

MC452198 (Updated) PowerPoint Live in Teams: Magnify Slide November 10, 2022: We have updated the rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.

When a deck is presented via PowerPoint Live in a Microsoft Teams meeting, all meeting attendees can use the Magnify Slide feature to privately zoom into the presentation while maintaining full fidelity of the slide content. When a meeting attendee magnifies a slide, it doesn’t change how the presenter or the other meeting attendees view the slides. The “Sync to presenter” button will also appear, which allows the meeting attendee to resume following the presenter. When the meeting presenter uses the Magnify Slide feature, the zoomed in presentation content is displayed to all meeting attendees to see and follow along. The initial roll out of Magnify slide in PowerPoint Live will only be available for Microsoft Teams Desktop.

There are multiple ways to use this feature in a Teams Meeting using PPT Live:

Use the +/- buttons in the (…) menu

Use Plus or Minus keys or Shift + Plus or Shift + Minus key on the keyboard (Ensure keyboard focus is on the PowerPoint Live slideshow area)

Pinch or stretch on the track pad while hovering over the slide

Pinch or stretch on the slide using a touch screen enabled device

Use Ctrl + mouse wheel scroll while hovering over the slide

Updated December 07, 2022: We have created a script which will allow customers to provide a list of VM names and remotely check to see if FSLogix is installed and if so, checks if the installed version greater is than the minimum version. It not only checks the version from the registry point of view, but also checks all the individual component versions as an extra measure. This script can be found here: GitHub
