MC225508 What?s New in the Microsoft Intune Service Update for October You will see the service release number updated in the Tenant Status blade of the Intune console soon. We?ve introduced some changes that we?re excited for you to try out. N/A
MC220415 (Updated) Admin setting for PSTN participant phone number masking in Teams meetings There is no direct impact or change on your users; the default setting will continue to mask participant phone numbers only for external users.
With this control, you can disable masking or you can mask phone numbers (PSTN) from all meeting participants (both internal and external).
We will begin rolling out this out in early December (previously mid-October) and expect the rollout to be complete by mid-January 2021 (previously end of November). N/A
MC221223 (Updated) Teams Meeting support for 20,000 attendees Currently, Teams meetings are limited to 300 users. If someone tries to join a meeting after it reaches capacity, they are unable to do so.
If you choose to purchase the https://docs.microsoft.com/microsoftteams/teams-add-on-licensing/advanced-communications Advanced Communications add-on, users who are assigned an Advanced Communications license will be able to host a meeting with up to 20,000 people as view-only attendees after a meeting has reached capacity.
The inclusion of view-only attendees will not impact the normal interaction available between regular attendees who joined before the meeting reached capacity.
Once the maximum Advanced Communications limit is reached, no additional view-only attendees will be able to join.
View-only attendees can use Teams in the browser or a Teams desktop app (Windows or Mac). We expect to support Teams mobile apps in mid-October; we will communicate that support via a new Message center post.
View-only attendees do not need the Advanced Communication plan to join the meeting in a view-only capacity. However, they do need permission to bypass the Lobby based on set Lobby Policies or Options.
View-only attendees will follow all lobby and security policy mechanisms.
View-only attendees will do so with limited access to capabilities. For example, view-only attendees will be able to listen to all audio and view a screen or window shared during the meeting. However, they will be unable to share audio or video, and they will be unable to see chat or other applications that are shared during the meeting.
Meeting organizers will not be able to see view-only participants in attendee counts or reports; this feature does not support the e-discovery of data. Organizers cannot remove view-only attendees from a meeting.
This feature will begin rolling out at the end of November (previously October) and expect to be complete by the beginning of December (previously the end of November). N/A
MC223174 (Updated) Redirecting eDiscovery tool usage from the Security and Compliance Center to the Microsoft Compliance Center There should be minimal impact to your organization as the workflows and experiences between the solutions offered between SCC and MCC are very similar. Additionally, your cases in eDiscovery and Advanced eDiscovery will already be available in the Microsoft 365 Compliance Center.
Moving forward, we plan to innovate and add value to the solutions in the Microsoft 365 Compliance Center, therefore we recommend transitioning your organization to using the solutions from the Microsoft 365 Compliance Center.
